Davenport IA Epoxy Flooring has spent 20+ years coating and polishing concrete floors in Davenport, Iowa, and the neighboring towns on both sides of the Mississippi. We work on garages, basements, shops, warehouses, plant floors and commercial kitchens, and we approach each one as a slab to understand before it is a floor to sell.
Most coating failures we are called to look at started with the concrete, not the product. That is why so much of what we do happens before the first coat goes down.
The Quad Cities hand a floor contractor a particular set of problems: road salt and brine tracked into garages every winter, old basements with a history of water, long freezing seasons that limit when an unheated space can cure, and two states with their own coating rules a short drive apart. We build our process around those conditions rather than around a one-size sales script.
Our Approach

Every slab is opened with a diamond grinder or a shot blaster, never an acid etch, and our proposal names the surface profile we are grinding to. A moisture test goes into the scope before the price is final, and cracks, spalls and old coatings are mapped so repairs are priced up front. If a slab needs to be repaired or replaced before it should be coated, we say so plainly. The written quote lists the product line, the number of coats and the finished thickness, so you can check the finished floor against it.
We are just as direct about limits. Coating warranties exclude moisture and hydrostatic pressure, and we explain those exclusions before the job is sold.
A floor coating is never radon work, waterproofing or flood protection, and old basement floors are checked for past water at the drain, the sump pit and any efflorescence first. Cure schedules follow the slab temperature and dew point, so an unheated garage in January is told to wait. Grinding dust is captured at the machine, and commercial jobs are phased around shifts, with the certificate of insurance the permit office asks for. Iowa-side and Illinois-side jobs are each quoted under that state’s coating rules.
